About the Event

In Permaculture, animals are of the utmost importance for maintaining the balance on your Farm, Homstead & Garden ecosystem.

Learn how differing species relate to each other & to their surrounding environment, understand selection and management of different types of animals in a permaculture design.

This workshop covers the role of poultry, bees, pigs, goats & sheep and their integration into your farm & homestead garden.

Learn to utilise animals, whether you breed for food, friendship or income, they can earn their keep too and assist you in the garden, such as insect and weed control, naturally fertilise, act as property guards & recycle green waste.

We will discuss the benefits and difficulties of free range animal management and how to supply them feed from your garden.

• Locating animals in a permaculture system

• Plant selection for livestock health (Fodder & Medicinal)

• Natural worming & lice control

• Animal water supply

• Animals for Garden Pest management

• Grass & Weed control

• Shelter for animals - natural & purpose built shelter

• Animal husbandry

• Raising & maintaing animals

• Use of animal manure

So whether you breed for food, friendship, function, income or a combination of all four, animals are vital to the farm & garden.
